Monarch Aircraft Engineering Ltd continues to trade as Monarch Airlines and Monarch Tour Group enter administration
Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited (MAEL) today announces its continuation as a standalone business, operating as normal, as Monarch Airlines and Monarch Tour Group enter Administration.
MAEL employs over 730 staff at six locations in the UK and four overseas. The company has hangars at Birmingham and London Luton airports, and line maintenance stations at London Gatwick, London Luton, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Edinburgh, Nice, Malaga, Warsaw and Kiev.
Whilst Monarch Airlines was a significant customer for MAEL, its focus is now on servicing its other existing clients and securing new contracts. In the last two weeks MAEL has won a new significant contract from Virgin Atlantic Airlines. MAEL will carry out C1 checks for Virgin’s Boeing 787-9 fleet between 2017 and 2021. All the maintenance work will be carried out at its state of the art facility at Birmingham Airport.
At the 2017 Paris Air Show in June, MAEL announced a joint venture partnership with Boeing Global Services (formerly Boeing GoldCare). The two companies are collaborating on securing additional third-party fleet servicing agreements, capitalizing on Boeing’s strength and reach within the industry and the expertise of MAEL.
MAEL was named 'Line Maintenance Provider of the Year 2017’ at Aviation 100 Gala Awards in May this year. MAEL has a solid reputation with the emphasis on safety and quality over a wide range of maintenance and overhaul solutions and services for a wide network of customers. It is a leading MRO in maintaining legacy fleets and for new technology aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
MAEL provided maintenance support to the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner operating in Europe. MAEL is one of a small number of Boeing-approved Global Fleet Care (formerly GoldCare) providers worldwide.
- Base Maintenance: with facilities located at London Luton Airport and Birmingham Airport MAEL is capable of accommodating up to twelve lines of heavy maintenance across Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Bombardier aircraft types.
- Line Maintenance: with permanent year round stations at London Gatwick, London Luton, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Edinburgh, Nice, Malaga, Warsaw and Kiev, MAEL is capable of providing line maintenance support including all levels of maintenance on Airbus, Boeing, Embraer and Bombardier aircraft types.
- Fleet Technical Support: as a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO), MAEL provides CAMO services to an established customer base worldwide.
- Component Services: the Spares Trading team can supply parts from an extensive range of consumable and rotable aircraft spares in stock, while the Component Maintenance Centre can repair the unit.
- Design Services: MAEL’s design service is an EASA Part 21 Subpart J and GCAA CAR 21 Subpart J Design Organisation.
- AOG Support and Assistance: as part of the suite of services which can be provided by MAEL in the event of an AOG situation, the company is able to provide staff on a detachment basis to assist with the rescue of grounded aircraft or supply materials and components on a sale, loan or exchange basis.
