Chris Dare appointed Managing Director

Chris Dare has been appointed as the Managing Director for Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL), in addition to his current role as Chief Information Officer for Monarch Group.

Interim lead, Andy Mackay, will resume his role as Head of Maintenance but will retain the Accountable Manager post for MAEL.

Chris has shown strong leadership since he joined Monarch Group in October 2011 as Group Information Services Director and has since taken on other responsibilities including PMO and Properties and Facilities. Chris has served as a Board member of MAEL from 2011 and joined the Group Executive Committee in January 2015. He has been overseeing the overall management of MAEL since the departure of Ian Bartholomew. His appointment to the role of Managing Director follows an extensive search and selection process.

Chris commented “I am really excited for the new challenge this role will bring. The Monarch Group is fully committed to its engineering division, to retaining state of the art MRO facilities in the UK and to growing its third party business, as well as providing an efficient service to its own airline. My aim is to ensure we become the preferred MRO for successful customers.”
