Direct Entry
Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL) has been involved with apprentice training for over 40 years. With all of this experience we still continue to uphold our reputation for producing high calibre engineers for the industry.
With the success of the apprenticeship Monarch has developed a direct entry scheme to enable engineers with transferable skills to be retrained in another engineering discipline.
The Scheme
Successful applicants will initially be based at our Engineering Training Academy at London Luton Airport where they will complete 6 weeks basic training. Following this, trainee engineers will complete 2 years of training in a hangar location as requested on initial application (Birmingham or Luton).
What will I learn?
You will be working alongside the Monarch Aircraft Engineering engineers and mentors who will guide you through the necessary skills and techniques to maintain aircraft to the highest standards. You will be on a constant monitoring program based on a Level 3 NVQ program to transfer your skills from your previous training to become an Aircraft Engineer.
Minimum entry requirements

- Hold an engineering or refurbishment qualification to Level 3 or equivalent
- 9 months engineering or refurbishment experience
