Rear Spar

Operators of the Airbus A320 family are acutely aware of the problems associated with the inspection relating to the wing top skin between rib 4 and rib 27, which has resulted on many occasions with various levels of corrosion being found. Monarch Aircraft Engineering has been leading the way with carrying out SB57-1154 and SB57-1155 relating to this subject.

Option 1 of the SB calls for the performance of an ultrasonic inspection of the aft spar top skin overhang, this inspection requires further inspections every 2C check interval to the same method. Option 2 when completed terminates any further inspection requirement.

Downtimes vary depending on the finding with a relative straightforward input taking between 4 and 6 days.

For further information on this and any other requirement then please feel free to contact a member of the sales team on +44 1582 398644.
